Airsoft Review: KWC Electric Desert Eagle

I dunno why, I just really wanted to post this. Happy Dead

If you're thinking about getting into Airsoft and just happen to be thinking about getting the KWC electric DE, here's a review. Happy

- LOOKS ----
It looks like a Desert Eagle, what can I say? Grin Unfortunately, it comes with a permanent red/orange barrel tip... It's probably only glued on, so you can most likely get it off some way or another.

The gun even has the copyright information and the Magnum Research warning that's on a real Desert Eagle. Smile

- OPERATION ----
For SOME reason, KWC made it so what would be the safety on a REAL DE is not the safety-- they put a button on the front of the grip that you HAVE to keep held down in order to fire. It's not bad, just it would be cooler if it was exactly like the real thing. Happy Dead It kind of gets annoying and a little bit uncomfortable to hold down the button, though... at least for me, I press down on it with the ends of my fingers, because if I just try to hold it down when my hand is around it, it usually doesn't keep held down all the way...

It's electric, as I said. It uses 4 AAA batteries that like to come loose. At least for me. Twice now, the batteries have come loose, and it was hard to get them to connect again. That was kind of annoying. It would ESPECIALLY be annoying if you were in the middle of a skirmish and-- oops! MY BATTERIES JUST DISCONNECTED! Laughing Oh well.

The gun is real fun to shoot and very accurate. It only shoots at 105 feet per second though... bad if you're out shooting people in the woods.

- OVERALL ----
I think I'm gonna give it an eight out of ten. It would be cooler if it had metal parts. Would be heavier then, which is cool. Grin

EDIT: It's not the batteries that come loose. Somehow we're jamming two BBs into the chamber or something...

RE: Airsoft Review: KWC Electric Desert Eagle

I would just like to point out that, although it may be made by KWC, Soft Air USA distributes it. I don't think KWC actually distributes their own electric Desert Eagles, if they even make any. All I could find about KWC DEs were spring and gas ones. And they were made out of mostly metal parts, too. The whole outer covering of our DE is plastic... The place we bought it from (Airsoft Atlanta) said it was made by KWC. I dunno about that... Anyway, I'm hoping to find a somewhat cheap Tokyo Marui M4A1 or AK-47 on eBay some eon. Grin

Im not sure if you can find the AK directly from there. I also am not sure if it is gas or not...I just don't know much eh'? Grin
