The Gun Control Topic BAN GUNS Who else hates to hear that? As I'm sure you all can infer from my many posts and pictures, I'm strongly pro-gun and pro-freedom. I just can't stand the politicians'--and most people's--need to ban or regulate all guns. It's like they have an addiction. It's obvious the politicians' need to ban guns is so they can stay in power without fear of an uprising. But why do the majority of people fear guns and want to ban them so badly? Is it because that's the politically correct thing to do? Has the media somehow tricked the people into thinking firearms can just get up of their own accord, load themselves, and shoot random people? What does "shall not infringe" mean to y'all? I'm sure the "founding fathers" of the United States are rolling in their graves at the political situation of today. They could fight the Revolutionary War because just about everybody had guns. Do you think they would do that just so they could instate a new government that takes away their guns and freedom? I just love it when politicians say they are pro-"second amendment" and then turn around and vote for some stupid gun ban such as the 1994 "Assault Weapons" Ban. (John Kerry voted for renewal of the "Assault Weapons" Ban back around February or March. If he was in the Senate back in '94, he undoubtedly voted for it then.) They say that our "hunting rifles" are safe (for now), and it's reasonable to ban "assault weapons." Okay, thanks for letting us keep the more powerful weapons, but what good is banning "assault weapons"? They just look different from traditional "hunting rifles." Not to mention their ammo is generally less powerful than typical "hunting" ammo. Another thing that bugs me is people claiming to be pro-gun but are for "reasonable restrictions" such as the useless "Assault Weapons" ban and claim that "nobody needs an AK47." I'd much rather have an "AK47" with several 30-round magazines than a five-round internal magazine Remington M700 ("hunting rifle") for when a psycho breaks into my house, a foreign army invades, or our own government decides to start genocide or confiscate our guns. I'm not for restrictions or regulations of any kind. I'm okay with background checks, as long as the feds don't keep any records on you... like what gun (or guns) you just bought, but I don't think it's necessary. The way I see it is, if everybody has a gun (be it a vehicle-mounted M134 minigun or a .22 caliber pistol, I don't care. But if you have an M134, may I come fire it? ), criminals with any sense would be too afraid to do anything bad and, thus, not do anything. But for the psychos that want to just kill tons of people for no reason and the like... well, we don't need them around anyhow. Anyway, I would just like to know everybody's opinion on the matter. I was just making a point of how this subject gets brought up so much. I also said I totally agreed with you. So, it isn't much off topic... So, if you have a problem with it, delete this and the past three posts...I don't care. Also part of the reason I said that up there, was because I didn't realize that there wasn't already a post on here about it...Which I am very surprised at that. So, sorry...
