RE: The Mad Bomber

The bomber himself would be standing at the third floor grand window at the archives. He looked down and watched what was going on. As soon as he saw the woman fall down dead, he sighed, and triggered a small detonator in his pocket. It turned out the inside of the an old run down van down the road had two crates wired together. Their contents were 15 pounds of C4 in each. And a timer began counting down from 5:00. It would surely cause pure devastation if it went off where it was parked, near the town center. The detonator didn't just start the timer in the van, the bomber himself had planted several bricks of semtex inside the archives basement, packed in storage boxes around the supporting pillars. These also began counting down from 5:00. He casually worked his way downstairs, ane xited through the back door, and got into an old beaten up pickup truck, and began driving off. Another shot screams down from the sniper, crashing inches away from Chris, hitting the wall behind him. Chris ran forward, and grabbed up two XM8s off the ground. He tossed one over twords Tom.

Chris: Just in case anyone finds their way back here.
Tom: BRING IT ON!!
Chris: ...

Chris runs out to the front of the building and runs from cover to cover, trying to find out where the sniper is hidden. It had turned out right before the bomber left the archives, he made a phone call. Moments after he left, another van, this one black, pulled up. Another group of men came out, these armed with M4A1's. They instantly broke into two groups, to find SG&C. John had been ducked behind a decorative bush, Chris behind a car, and Jake around the side wall. Tom still remained down in the alley against the wall. Jake peered around and starting running out, opening fire on the men. His bullets sprayed, hitting one through the neck, dropping him. And another one through the leg. Chris pops up from behind the car and lets out a 3-round burst into one of the unsuspecting guards, the body then fell to the ground. Jake went to unload again, but he was out of ammo. One of the guards turned and took aim at him. Jake dove to the side, and happened to land near one of the earlier guards that were slain. He grabbed up the XM8 and unloaded four rounds into the guys chest. The last guard was noware to be seen by anyone. Off in the back ally, manical laughter asnd gunfire was heard. John ran to the ally to see Tom holding up the XM8, and one of the men laying on the ground.

Tom: Hey, what's going on?
John: >_>
Jake: Uh, no time to celebrate guys, there's a SNIPER!

At that moment, another shot ripped through the air, and landed itself into Chris' Jeep, destroying the tire.

RE: The Mad Bomber

Chris: Not again.

He leans out from behind the statue he's hiding behind, now having an idea of which direction the sniper fire is coming from. The sun hits just right and he sees the glint off of a scope right before part of the statue explodes.

Chris: Amateur.

He goes over to his Jeep and grabs his MSG90. He crawls up to the right front wheel well and takes aim. The sniper has disappeared. Seconds later, the third window to the left of the one he was originally in opens and Chris clearly sees the rifle poke out, but he can't see a person. The black minivan's back window shatters, followed by the rifle's report. While aiming slightly downward, the sniper's head comes into view. Chris fires.

However, his scope isn't zeroed.

It hits a foot below the sniper's window. The sniper jumps and looks around. Chris aims up and fires again, nailing him in the face. The rifle falls out of view.

Chris: I GOT HIM!

Boom-boom. Dust blows up. The archives begin to collapse. Down the road, people scream. John grabs Tom and drags him away as fast as he can.

Tom: AUUGGHH! It'd be nice if you didn't make my hole two feet bigger!
John: Do you want a three story building to collapse on you? Suck it up!

John tosses Tom into the back of the Jeep.

John: Come on, we only have a few minutes before police get here! Let's get another tire on!

John, Chris, and Jake work quickly to change the blown tire. Sirens are getting louder. They finish, jump in, and the tires squeal as Chris hits the gas and they haul butt out of there. John grabs his cell phone.

John: Jango, we need the Sky Wolf. Come get us on... Chris, what's the next street?
Chris: Walnut Boulevard.
John: Walnut Boulevard.
Jango: Sure thing. Be right there.

RE: The Mad Bomber

The Jeep storms forward down the road, further down, on the right there is a large empty parking lot. The Sky Wolf can be seen landing. As the jeep aproaches, the laoding door is already open, so they drive right up, and it instantly begins closing. Before it's even half-way shut, the Sky Wolf begins lifting off. The four climb out of the jeep, Tom still with his hand over the bullet wound in his shoulder.

John: Well, either way the dang bomber still got what he wanted, and more.
Tom: Tell me about it. *mumble mumble*

The four start packing away stuff, and Tom begins patching up his arm. Megan turns on the radio.

*Radio*
This is an urgent newcast! All Sekhmet residents are warned to stay in their homes at ALL times. There has been another explosion at the National Archives. The Sunder armed forces are moving into action. They have descriptions of several bombers. If you have any tips, please call 1-555-Sekhmet (Don't ask.).

Jake: Why do I get the feeling those "Descriptions" are of us? Well, either way, didn't he mention something about the Capitol building?
John: I believe so. We should head over there, and fast.
Jango: Right.

RE: The Mad Bomber

John: Here's your 1911.
Megan: Thanks. I was feeling naked without it.
Chris: Okay, we can't exactly waltz into the capitol, mostly with our guns. We've probably been labelled as terrorists.
Jake: But I imagine the bomber--the one we met up with earlier--has some kind of way inside... or at least a lackey that can get in.
Megan: Could we get in from the roof?
Chris: The capitol is probably crawling with guards, including the roof.
Jake: The capitol's less than two miles away. Why don't we take a look?

He sets his monitor to display the Sky Wolf's camera and zooms in, pointing at the roof top.

Jake: They've got... ten guys standing around. With guns, of course.

Megan looks.

Megan: Pff. I can get in.
John: You think?
Megan: I did that kind of stuff all the time before I joined you guys. Piece of cake. Drop me over there.

She points.

John: What are you going to do if you find bombs? I doubt you can get out of there very fast.
Megan: I'll just pull the detonator. Not hard.

John thinks back to the bombs they heaved into harbors and rivers.

John: At least some people got free, pre-cooked fish.
Megan: Chunk-Lite™ tuna.
Tom: Mmmmmm...

He squirts.

Jango: Aauuggghh! Eeewwwww!

Tom fixes his bandage and grins dumbly.

Jango: Okay, I'm going to land in this conveniently placed empty parking lot. Hurry up and get out before I draw attention.

Megan checks her 1911 and hops out. The Sky Wolf takes off.

The Mad Bomber

Megan walks the three blocks over to the capitol building. She turns quickly into an alley before many people notice her. She quickly takes note that there are only two windows that are ten feet above the ground. She sees a light through one window, but the other is dark. There is not a single climbable object on the side of the building nor is there anything for her to stack up. She looks over at the adjacent building and sees a fire escape.

She quickly ascends the fire escape and halts slightly above the window. She leaps across the alley and grabs onto the large window sill. After grunting from the shock of stucco'd concrete ripping into her forearms, she pulls herself onto it. Luckily, the window was opened slightly. She opens it the rest of the way and climbs into the vacant office. She returns the window to its original state then makes her way toward the door. She draws a fiber optic cable from her back pocket and slips it under the door. She sees people in suits and armed guards patroling the hallways. She pulls the cable back in and stows it. She switches on the light and looks around the room. She sees a pair of glasses sitting on a nearby desk and an empty leather case on the floor. She snatches the glasses, dons them, and grabs the case. Calmly and confidently, she goes to the door, opens it, switches off the light, steps out, and shuts it behind her. She walks down the hallway, appearing to have a purpose. Nobody pays any attention to her. She nearly stumbles a couple times because she can't see well through the glasses. She finds a spiral staircase down to the basement. She heads down, removing the glasses and pocketing them.

At the bottom, she notices three bare 40-watt light bulbs provide the only illumination. After her eyes refocus from the glasses and adjust to the lighting, she sees massive wads of explosives all duct-taped to block pillars and lying around the bases. Toward the far wall she sees a person in a cloak kneeling by another pillar. He is wiring another bomb.

Megan walks briskly toward him, drawing her Kimber 1911 and switching off the safety in one smooth motion and bringing it to bear on his head. The slight click of the safety lever alerts the cloaked man. He jerks slightly.

Megan: I've got you covered. Put your hands where I can see them and stand up.

One second later, the man pulls a 4" Smith and Wesson M19 revolver from beneath his cloak while standing, ruining Megan's sight picture, and fires a shot at her. Almost simultaneously, she fires back at him. The round hits him square in the chest but doesn't appear to phase him. His round hits her right in the chest as well. She winces. For a moment she regretted making the decision to not wear the trauma plate this morning, but she quickly re-focused on her current situation and ignored the pain. The man ran past, firing again, but Megan knocked the gun away. The round hit a blob of C4 taped to a pillar. He pushes back at her, knocking her off balance. He makes his way up the stairs. Megan regains balance and dashes for the stairs. At the top of the stairs, the bomber finishes loading the last cartridge into the cylinder of his M19, flicks it closed, turns, and fires a wild shot down the stairwell. It hits the wall, spraying concrete chips into Megan's face. The bomber starts running for the nearest exit, shooting guards along the way. At the lobby, his gun is empty. He sticks it into his belt and pulls out two M67 fragmentation grenades. They are already armed. Apparently he has a rig for his grenades that automatically pull the pins when he draws them. He tosses them to either side of himself and runs out of the building. People are scrambling to exit as well. Megan loses the bomber in the crowd. The grenades explode, disintegrating desks, chairs, and other office supplies. Some people go down after being hit by shrapnel.

Megan, ears ringing, runs through the cloud of dust and smoke out into the street. Megan searches frantically for the bomber.

He is nowhere in sight.

She grabs her walkie-talkie.

Megan: Guys, he was in the building. We traded bullets then he ran outside. I've lost him.
John (Over radio): Dangit. Are you hit?
Megan: Yeah, not bad though--in the vest.

Security officers come running out of the building, rifles shouldered. They seem to be looking for the bomber as well. Megan turns to one.

Megan: That guy planted a buttload of explosives down in the basement. We better go defuse it all before he blows it.

Megan and some of the officers arrive in the basement. Megan checks around where she saw the bomber. She picks up a small device with a knob and two buttons that was on the floor.

Megan: This looks like a radio detonator control.

An officer comes over to look.

Officer: Definitely. If you don't mind, we'll take that.

Megan hands it to him. Several officers are working on removing the detonators from all the C4. She decides to leave, uncomfortable with large amounts of explosives surrounding her. She radios for Jango to pick her up.

RE: The Mad Bomber

As soon as the Sky Wolf was in view, Megan waved it down. Jango landed not too far from her location. She made her way over there as fast as she could, and climbed up into the side-loading door. The Sky Wolf lifted up and took off before she even made it into the cabin. When she finally arrived, the group was all sitting around, being lazy.

John: Oh, hey. Soo..What happened?
Megan: We exchanged fire, but he didn't get to finish setting the bombs.
Jake: Wait wait wait...You EXCHANGED FIRE?
Megan: Um..Yes?

She began prying the bullet out of her vest.

Jake: You do know that if he dies, an entire slew of bombs will go off..right?
Megan: ...No.

Jake smacks his forhead.

Chris: Well, at least he didn't die, I suppose.
Tom: He may not have died, but countless already have. And we're marked as the terrorists behind it.
Jake: Yeah yeah, I know.

John would sigh deeply.

John: Well, we have to figure something out.
Tom: Do you think maybe he's getting his explosives from the same place as the other guy?
Chris: No, no. This guy is a professional. He probably makes his own.
John: Hmmm...If you were a bomber..where would you be?

Jakes eyes widened.

Jake: An inn! He would be at an inn to be able to work in privacy, and not be traced! That's why Dido must've been bombing, he already figured it out, and wanted to eliminate his 'competition'!

RE: The Mad Bomber

John: Problem being that you said yourself that all of the inns inside the city were blown.
Chris: So he's apparently outside the city limits.
Jake: So he probably isn't far. There are two highways leading out of Sekhmet. Chris, John, and Tom can take H13 with the Jeep, Megan, Jango, and I will take H11 in the Sky Wolf.
Megan: How would we know what inn he's in? We don't know his name, and we can't go barging into all of the rooms in every inn we see.
Jake: Good point. It is possible that he's checked into my inn at some point.

He turns to the computer and digs into his inn files. He opens up his records within the past week.

Jake: Jack Tortilini... Tyler Gordon... Karl--Karl Bizzard! I remember him. That's him.
John: That was fast.
Jake: Jango, head over to H13.
Jango: Sure thing, boss.

--Minutes later.--
Chris has already put his Cx4, AR15 with M203, and MSG90 in the Jeep, John his Mossberg 590 and G36, and slung his P90, and Tom his XM15 and MP5K. The Sky Wolf lands and the loading ramp opens. Chris backs the Jeep out, the Sky Wolf takes off, and they start driving, watching for inn signs. At the first exit, they get off and find the inn. John goes in and goes to the counter.

John: Excuse me, has a... Karl Bizzard checked in here recently?
Clerk: I'm sorry, we don't give out information about our guests.
John: This is very important. I'm trying to find the guy that's been bombing Sekhmet and this is my only lead.

The clerk looks reluctant.

Clerk: ...Just... don't tell anybody. He's in room twenty.
John: Thank you.

John goes upstairs and finds room twenty. He knocks on the door and turns around.
Voice: Who is it?
John: Room service.
Voice: I didn't call for room service.
John: That's odd. The call came from room twenty.

Karl opens the door, Star Megastar in hand. One glimpse of his face and John knows it's him. He slams the door open, hitting Karl in the face. John grabs the gun from Karl's hand while he's stunned and holds it on him.

John: Don't move.

John pulls out his radio.

John: I got him. Get your butts to room twenty.

Seconds later, Chris and Tom arrive.

Chris: Night.

Chris beats Karl over the head with the butt of his Px4. They drag him out to the Jeep.

RE: The Mad Bomber

When they reach the Jeep, Chris grabs a roll of rope, and begins to bind the mans feet and hands. They begin searching him for weapons or explosives. Several HE grenades, smoke grenades, and blocks of semtex are found. As well as a combat knife tucked away inside his boot.

John: All right, I'll call Jake and the others. Let's head to the police station.
Chris: But if we go anyware near there, we'll be gunned down. We're flagged as terrorists.
John: Gah..You're right. Head down there, anyway. Park a block away.

Chris shrugs it off, and trusts John. They begin driving off. John calls Jake and the others when they begin driving. John tells everything to Jake, and the Sky Wolf begins heading back to their location. A bit later, they come to a stop, the police station can be seen not too far away. John grabs a pen and paper and writes down the entire story with Karl. He tucks the story in karl's pocket, and tosses him in a parking lot, behind a dumpster. He calls the police station, and leaves a tip that there is someone behind the dumpster. They start driving down the road then. As the pass the police station, they can see officers running outside, and down the block. One of them eyes the jeep as it passes. Down the road, there was an old sandlot, where the Sky Wolf was awaiting, it's loading hatch was open. The jeep pulled up, and the hatch closed. Jango pulled the ship up, and begin heading off west.

Jake: Well, since that's taken care of, where can we find this third guy?
John: Who knows..

Just then, Johns cellphone rings.

John: Hello?
??: This is officer Greenridge, of the Sekhmet police department. We have traced your call. We know it was your 'group', SG&C that have captured Karl Bizzard. We apologize for labelling you as the bombers, and in return for your help in this matter, we are rewarding you all with four thousand lom. A SWAT team has already captured and imprisoned the other bomber, Dido Morinari.
John: What? Karl said he killed Dido, and that there was a third bomber who bombed the diplomacy building.
Greenridge: Dido was quite alive and has already admitted to bombing the diplomacy center. I think this case is closed.
John: Well, thanks, officer. We'll be down there in a few minutes to get our reward.

MISSION ACCOMPLISHED

[John has obtained 4000 lom, 800 experience, Beretta M8045 handgun]
[Jake has obtained 4000 lom, 800 experience, HK XM8 battle rifle]
[Chris has obtained 4000 lom, 800 experience, HK XM8 battle rifle]
