Continuum - Music by John Mayer It came out three days ago and I got it the first day. Yaaay. It seems every time I listen to it it gets better. I've listened to a few of the songs (In Repair, Heart of Life, Bold as Love) several times in one day. (That never happens.) The whole thing is great though. The only song I don't love is I'm Gonna Find Another You. Songs with "you" in the name are never any good. (Notice Train's latest CD isn't any good? Notice the song names? Yeah.) ETA: I'm Gonna Find Another You isn't actually bad, it just doesn't do anything for me. Hard to tell if I like it better than Room for Squares or Heavier Things, though. Battle Studies - Music by John Mayer So, John's new album Battle Studies came out in November. I've been listening to it quite a bit, and I don't like it quite as much as Continuum (which is truly John Mayer's best album) it's still quite good. It moved back toward a more pop-ish sound like Room for Squares and Heavier Things, and you'll likely notice a bit of a scarcity of guitar work. The music holds up anyway. The best track is probably Assassin, which is almost nothing but drums and bass anyway.
